My role on the Grand Canyon Street View project with Team River Runner was as a photographer. My days were spent waking up early and going to bed late, generally even later than the musicians who played late into the night around the fire. My biggest task behind the lens was making the 360 panoramas for Street View. Additionally, I was captured journalistic moments throughout the trip. In gathering the images for panoramas, I was not only trying to capture the perspective in every direction, but also freeze the action in front of me. For every pano we had to really take time to think the process through, without disturbing the flow of the blind kayakers who had to stay on a daily schedule. The entire process was amazing; I loved every challenging moment of it. I was deeply moved to witness this inspiring and touching journey of the kayakers, and am honored to be able to share this experience with Team River Runner and Google Street View.
